Nexium Control 40 mg contains esomeprazole, a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) that reduces the amount of acid produced in the stomach. Nexium Control is used to control the amount of acid in the stomach. It is prescribed to treat frequent heartburn and to prevent heartburn after eating. Nexium Control is taken once a day.
Read on for more information. The Nexium Control tablets contain a brand name called Nexium, which is used to treat frequent heartburn and to prevent heartburn after eating. If Nexium Control is taken, you will have a less frequent heartburn.
Take this medicine as advised by your doctor. Swallow the medicine with a glass of water. Do not crush, chew or break it. Take this medicine with or without food as directed by your doctor. Do not take Nexium Control more often than once daily. Swallow Nexium Control whole; do not split, crush or break it.
Common side effects may include: diarrhoea, indigestion or flatulence, headache, stomach ache, dizziness, muscle pain, nausea or vomiting, upset stomach, constipation, dizziness, and allergic reactions. If any of these effects persist or worsen, notify your doctor immediately.
Serious side effects such as chest pain, trouble breathing, or slow/irregular heartbeat may also occur. Contact your doctor if you experience any of the following side effect: severe dizziness, fainting, chest pain, fast/irregular heartbeat, or if you develop other signs of liver problems (such as abdominal pain, dark urine, persistent nausea or vomiting).
Avoid excessive intake of alcohol or excess weight while taking this medicine. Nexium Control may cause too much acid in the stomach. Acid is known to cause serious heartburn and other stomach problems in some people. Get medical help right away if you experience any of the following side effect or get: nausea/vomiting; stomach pain/discomfort; itching/swelling (especially of the face/tongue/throat); severe diarrhoea; rash. Contact your doctor if you experience a rash; fever or joint pain; yellowing of the skin/eyes/jaundice (a more serious skin problem).

Directions
Directions for use: Take one tablet once a day. Do not exceed this dose. The tablets should be swallowed whole. Do not chew or crush the tablets. May take 2-3 days for full effect. If your symptoms worsen or do not improve after taking this medicine for 14 days in a row, contact your doctor. Read the package leaflet before use. Oral use. Storage recommendation: Do not store above 30°C. Store in the original package in order to protect from moisture. Keep out of the sight and reach of children.
What does it mean?Can I take Nexium Control if I have pain in my stomach? Nexium Control is generally not recommended for use in patients with a known hypersensitivity or allergy to either the ingredients of the medicine or to any of the other ingredients of this medicine. If you have a known hypersensitivity reaction, contact your doctor. In alternative forms of this medicine, rashes or itching may occur. See the package leaflet for further information.
